FAQs

How should I prep before my spray tan?
For the best glow, exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment using a loofah or washcloth—avoid heavy oils or exfoliating scrubs. After showering, skip the lotion, perfumes, or deodorant.
Shave at least 12 hours before your tan—shaving right before can cause streaks due to residue from your razor or shaving cream.
Plan to complete any waxing, manicures, or pedicures before your appointment, and wear loose, dark clothing to your session.
-
When should I book my spray tan before an event?
We recommend tanning 2-3 days prior to any big event for peak color and glow.
-
How do I know which color or tone to choose?
Payton will guide you through color matching at your appointment, ensuring the perfect tone to complement your skin and your desired depth.
-
How long will my spray tan last?
With proper care, expect your tan to last about 7-10 days. Moisturizing and staying hydrated are key to maximizing longevity.

Will I look orange after a spray tan?
No - We only use premium solutions that are expertly blended to give you a natural, sun-kissed glow—never orange.
-
What’s the right way to rinse off my spray tan?
No soap, no scrubbing. Use lukewarm water and your hands only to gently rinse the bronzer off—especially focusing on areas like your legs and underarms.
Improper rinsing is the #1 cause of streaks, so take your time!
-
I have streaks after rinsing. What now?
Hop back in for a second rinse. If that doesn’t do the trick, use a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to spot-correct. Just remember—it’ll remove the tan in that area, and you may need a touch-up.
-
When can I apply lotion after my tan?
Wait 12 hours post-rinse before applying any lotion. We love CeraVe—it’s hydrating and clean. Moisturize twice daily and drink lots of water to keep your glow fresh and lasting.
-
Will my spray tan stain my clothes or sheets?
The cosmetic bronzer may transfer slightly in the first 1-2 days. It washes out of most fabrics, but we recommend wearing dark, loose clothing just in case.
-
My tan isn’t dark enough—what should I do?
Wait the full 24 hours after rinsing—your tan will continue to develop. Still not dark enough? You’re welcome to respray.
-
I’m too dark—how can I lighten my tan?
Try a second rinse, a warm bath, or a soak in the sauna or hot tub. These will help lift excess bronzer.
-
Can I still tan outdoors with a spray tan?
Yes! But remember, your spray tan doesn’t include SPF—so wear sunscreen to protect your skin and allow your natural tan to build safely.
-
Can I get a spray tan if my skin is peeling?
Unfortunately, no. Peeling skin will result in a patchy tan.
-
Will pools, jacuzzis, or saunas affect my tan?
Yes. Chlorine, seawater, and heat will fade your tan faster. Waterproof sunscreen can help repel water and extend your glow.
-
What should I wear to my tanning appointment?
To your appointment: Loose, dark clothing.
During your tan: You can wear a swimsuit, underwear, or go nude—whatever makes you feel most comfortable. -
How soon after tanning can I work out?
Please wait 16–24 hours before sweating it out. A light rinse beforehand helps remove any remaining bronzer to avoid streaking. We also provide a workout friendly solution.
-
Is it safe to spray tan while pregnant?
TANND uses DHA-based products that only affect the outermost layer of the skin. That said, we always recommend checking with your doctor first.
-
Can I spray tan if I’ve just had surgery?
Only once you’re completely healed and cleared by your doctor. Never tan over healing or open wounds.
-
Can I tan over a new tattoo?
Only once it’s fully healed.
-
Can teenagers get spray tans?
Yes—with parental consent.
-
What if I have sensitive skin?
We suggest booking a patch test before your full spray tan to make sure your skin agrees with the formula.
-
Can I spray tan if I have eczema or psoriasis?
In most cases, yes—with a signed waiver. Let us know in advance so we can prep accordingly.
